  1. My Facebook feed is boring. Why waste a lot of time when you can read some answers from Quora !
  2. My Google search skills are not so good and I don't want to waste a lot of time in reading all the first 10 websites which are given in the first results page.
  3. On Quora you will see a lot silly questions which are not so easy to answer like "Insects: If you injure a bug, should you kill it or let it live and not die?" After seeing these kind of questions you will think of asking some hypothetical questions ! Wow ! you are giving some creative work to your brain.
I love books. They can(and they will) change the way we think.
Now a days most of the books are available in e-book formats. Thanks to smart phones and tablets ! You can carry them anywhere with the help of smartphones.

Now lets come to blogs and websites. As blogging is much simpler than publishing a book, Most of the writers considering writing their own blog. As a blogger I have come across many websites and blogs to read some quality blog posts and to know about design issues. In the search of good websites I have found some useful self-help websites and blogs. Most of these blogs are written by experienced writers and speakers.

There will be some situations where you want to access a web-page in offline mode. Say for example you are preparing for your university end exams and you have some important reading material available in a website. In this situation you may prefer to take printouts or save them in PDF format so that you can access them in your computer(offline mode) or on your tablet.

Printing a web-page as it is may waste a lot of paper and also it wont look good as websites display advertisements which are useless and distracting. So now  our aim is to remove the advertisements and save a webpage as PDF file so that we can read it offline or take a printout of it.

or Read a webpage like an e-book

Writing a piece of code is almost same as dealing with your girlfriend. Most of the times you will get an error, then you start debugging it.Sometimes you may get the output first time of compilation itself(never happened to me except for those boring 'hello world' shit !).

How many times you have handled your girl friend without any confusion ?  How many times you have implemented a logic with understanding it properly ?

People think that coding is complicated. Watch this amazing video once to cross check your opinion.

"Code is poetry"
if(you understand it);

Let me Google that for you is a best website for the power Google users. If you want to show your friend how to search for a particular query on Google, you can record it and send the link to your  friend (poor Google user !)
If you don't know about 'let me Google that for you' service, read it here

There is another tool on this website which shows the all queries entered by other people. This is not possible in Google as Google won't reveal any search data of others with you.
Where as in Let me Google that for you, We can see what others are searching for as a live-stream. This trick is implemented by taking the log files of lmgtfy.com search queries.

know what others are searching on Google using lmgtfy.com
see what others are searching on google through lmgtfy.com

Do you want to try this now. Then go here to see what others are searching on Google while their friends are not able to do it easily.

I was born in a village where it takes 4 hours to travel just 40 miles. I started my schooling in a shed where we used to sit on the floor filled with sand. There were hardly 2 teachers who taught me to read, write and basic maths. There is no scope of Computers or Internet at that time (especially at my place....even now !)

But the world is changing now(again..... not my place!!) . The Web is changing the way of education. You can now sit in your home and listen to your favorite programming class directly from Harvard university(or any of your favorite one).

Geeky Brains Blog is always trying to find informative and useful web content. Now we are introducing you the concept of "Open Online Learning" in order to make education simple and open for all.

I hate Power Point presentations even the topic is interesting to me. In fact Power Point presentations make me sleep faster than sleeping pills. Power Point Presentations are one of the old methods we are still using for presenting an idea or concept.

Also creating a powerpoint presentation is a big job without any creativity.

So lets make our  presentations beautiful and simple with prezi, an online presentation tool.

Geeky Brains made a small presentation about the blog using Prezi. For better experience use full screen mode by clicking at bottom right corner.

Go to Prezi.com and create an account for free. You can watch the 1 minute video tutorial to understand about prezi presentation making.
We can choose from a wide range of templates and edit it.Finally save it and share with the people you want to present.

ADVANTAGES OF PREZI :
  • You can use it Offline presentations too
  • You can embed the presentation in your blog or website
  • You can download the presentation as a PDF file
  • You can attach any video or image to your presentation
Finally and most importantly Prezi presentations are more creative and beautiful than an ordinary paper presentation.

So present your ideas using Prezi to make it simple and creative :)

5.Now here another one for entertainment but at the same time this site can teach many things.
Yes it is xkcd.com   this site's home page shows a lot of comic pictures randomly. But if you click on the what if section you will love it. The best thing is this website is under creative common license which means you can share (or copy) their content .

6.Scienceblogs.com  is a group of blogs by National Geography channel. Believe me , I can spend hours of time here!

wolframalpha.com  is not a regular search engine but a Computational knowledge engine. See the home page , Its really cool and User friendly.

8.Love creativity Thinking and mind matters. Then you should enter into creativethinking.net  I don't like the home page by Michael Michalko but I must applaud his works on the website. See the exercises page for testing your creative thinking.

9.typetester.org is an online tool to see how your text font appears upon a website. You can use this tool to test the font of your presentations also.

10.Some times we cant live without Google.Say for example last week you have searched for a key word in google and found something. But now you forget the keyword. So what you do now? simply click on google.co.in/history

Lets book mark these sites . Don't filter yourself to restricted area on the web. Keep reading this blog to get more updates :)
Have you ever lost your important files ? Have you ever faced a situation where you forget your Pen Drive just before giving a presentation ?

Then you must sign in to Drop Box .Dropbox is one of the leading file hosting service which is giving a 2.25GB free online storage space.

But some times this default storage limit may trouble you. If you wish to add your camera rolls to your dropbox account then you definitely need to increase your space.

Of course you may not apt for paying options. But here is a good news that you can easily increase your Dropbox storage limit to 18GB.

To get an additional space of  2.35GB follow the instructions

What you have to do                                -   What you will get
  1. complete the getting started guide                 -    250MB
  2. link your account with facebook                   -    125MB
  3. link your account with twitter                       -    125MB
  4. tell why you love dropbox                            -    125MB
  5. follow dropbox on twitter                             -    125MB
  6. post something about dropbox on twitter      -    125MB
  7. Upload your camera pictures too dropbox    -    1.5GB
Now there is one more option to get space upto 18GB . For this you need to refer dropox to your friends. If they accept and register dropbox  you will get 500MB storage. thats it. All you need is to invite all your friends and ask them register for Dropbox.

To give you an idea you can see my earned space on dropbox

You can wonder why to earn space like this if google drive is giving 10GB by default. But DropBox has a lot of advantages compared to any other cloud  storage services . particularly the uploader for Dropbox is very good.So start dropping  all your files at DropBox.
